kittens available for adoption

the other day i met a momma cat and her five 3-week-old kittens. needless to say my heart melted at the sight of the first (of three) ginger tabbies. (SIDENOTE: there really isn’t anything much cuter than a teeny tiny kitten mew.) they were found living under porch of the woman who is currently caring…

tabitha - if i didn’t already have 3…

Kristen McKay - Beautiful shots Marcia. I so wish I could take them all home. The one of the black one with his mouth open I’m assuming meowing is so cute. I love them all.

Kristen McKay - Oh my God they are so cute. I want to adopt them. Think James would be upset to come home to these cuties. The orange ones face is just so sad looking. I love the blue eyes on the black one. Great photos Marcia stunning as always.

georgie - hahah they all look so angry!! and there’s a mini “basement cat” there too! i can just hear their tiny meows
i hope they get adopted

the hot ‘dog days’ of summer

here in toronto, we are experiencing a record high for summer temperatures…and it doesn’t seem to be letting up anytime soon. here is my list of tips for keeping your dogs cool this summer: 1. if you don’t have central air, limit them to the lower floors in your home… or find other ways to…

Caryn Charlie Liles - Great tips!! And even better pics. I love it.

A few others:

- don’t shave your dog in the summer as it exposes their skin to direct sunlight, causing sunburns. It can also mean that you’ve removed their undercoat which acts as a sunblocking barrier and an insulating layer (keeping the cool in).

- use canine sunblock if you have to – don’t worry about the mess.

- limit the ice cubes to a small handful every hour or two – it can cause dehydration since the body has to work harder to warm the water for processing.

- keep a white facecloth in your bag when you’re out – you can soak it and lay it over their head to help cool them faster.

- keep YOURSELF hydrated and cool; what use will you be if you have sunstroke? Your dog is likely not going to read these tips so he won’t know to call your GP. LOL

Nicely done, Marcia!!

Dwyn Tomlinson - Point number 4 – “the ground is hot” is a good one – and folks tend to forget it. Asphalt and concrete sidewalks can burn too. The photos to illustrate this list are a delight!

Kristen McKay - Oh my God the picture of Cameron at the end is priceless. Great tips to know. I didn’t know about the ice cube thing at all.

Nicole Klimack - Gorgeous dogs. Great pics!

dyson animal

a few months ago, i did a shoot for DYSON CANADA for their ANIMAL line of vacuums, which are designed for picking up, well…animal hair. the site is now updated and they have used some of my photos to link to the videos they also shot that day of client testimonials. they used real people, who…

ilana - hello, the picture of the labradoodle (charlie) i was wondering if you had a copy of it. i am the groomer who spiffed him up for his dyson gig and i wanted to put it on my grooming page. feel free to e-mail me curtis_kitty@hotmail.com
thanks!

Fiona - our vacuum wasn’t really doing a great job cleaning the floors, especially the dog hair, so we decided to invest in a dyson – the DC23 motorhead animal. I never thought vacuuming could be so fun! It works fantastically and is such a huge difference over the old one we had. The rugs look brand new and my allergies in the house aren’t so bad. Although the dog does not appreciate it as much as I do, I love my dyson!

Erin - I have a Dyson…and with my crew of dogs I’d be in big trouble without it! It picks up everything…and most of all DOG HAIR!

I’ve had it for 2 years now and can honestly say I haven’t had one problem with it.

Kudos to you Dyson for such a great product!

Jennifer - We have an upright Dyson Animal…it’s FANTASTIC! It did the job on two German Shepherds! We had trouble with it once last year and they replaced the canister and some other parts immediately, free of charge, no questions asked. Now it’s like new. I would never spend money on any vacuum other than a Dyson!

Vicki - I have one and the handheld animal! Love them and would never buy anything else ever again. Best investment ever! Never knew i would get excited over a vacuum!

Shay - I LOVE my Dyson. Seriously – the BEST wedding gift I got!! :)
We have 2 Australian Shepherds and a big orange tabby kitty – I have a house constantly full of animal hair tumbleweeds!
