this session holds a very special place in my heart.

my beautiful cousin cherlynn and her fiance chris are expecting their first baby (look at this couple! have you ever seen any two so ridiculously good looking?!). i was honoured when they asked me to photograph their pregnancy.

i was in awe to see my little cousin (i used to change her diapers!)…now this gorgeous amazing woman in front of me, ready to have a baby of her own. it took my breath away. she could not be more beautiful and so incredibly comfortable in her own skin. 

we decided to have the session before her baby shower at her mom’s (my aunt) home. i scouted all the rooms and picked the yellow room, which turned out to be cherlynn’s childhood bedroom. cherlynn loves yellow. she wears yellow dresses, drives a yellow car, her hair is silky gold, so it made sense to photograph her surrounded by her favorite colour with her favourite guy and her favourite kitty.

speaking of…sydney, the cat, hid in the laundry basket for most of our shoot until she got her mommy alone. then she snuggled with her on the bed and nuzzled her belly. sorry syd…enjoy having your mom to yourself while you still can.

cherlynn rocked the lotus pose at 7 months pregnant…you’re my hero!

i can’t wait to meet this gorgeous baby and perhaps change his/her diaper too.
